The Cherokee Dragons continnue to adjust to the the higher competitive environment of the National League, as they have now dropped their 4th straight game.
The Dragons led the Diablos, two time National League Champs, for most of the game, on the back of a stellar pitching performance by team stud, Heath Howard.
A classic North Cobb three run homer, estimated at 346 feet, sealed the Dragon's fate on this day though, as the Diablos went on to score 6 in the seventh to break open a previously tight ball game.
Notable perfomances included Ryan Palazzo, 2 for 3, Seth brown, 2 for 3 with a 2B and R, Heath Howard 2 for 4 with a RBI and R, and Donny Williams 2 for 4 with a 2B and R.
The play of the day was made when the Diablos tried to get greedy and score from first. Palazzo had missed his cut off man throwing in from left, but the ageless wonder, Ken "Blue" Butler came flying across the diamond from first base, scooped up the ball and gunned out a flying Reynaldo Gallagher at the plate. It was your regular 7-3-2 put out.
Dragons Lose, 9-4
