Do you have what it takes?

A couple of years ago I decided that I wanted to play ball. Where could I possibly play? After all, once your an adult, there is no way to play ball again, right? Well, I stumbled upon a treasure in the form of the Atlanta MABL. I played on saturdays my first year in the league, and then went on to play in 2002 with the Georgia Mudcats. We were horrible. At the end of the season, only a core group of guys stuck it out. We had to grab a lot of guys that had never played before or hadn't played in years just to fill the roster.

The results were not good. The 2002 Georgia Mudcats finished with a record of 3-15. But it ain't all bad news.

Our core guys went on to play fall ball in 2002, we finished with a 3-4 record.

With 2003, the Cherokee Dragons were born. After starting the season 0-7, we finished 7-11 and then went on to a 5-1 Record in the Fall, to finish 2003 at 12-12. In only our second year, we won the National League East Division with a record of 12-6.

And so now I am looking for a few dedicated players who want to play some ball and have a good time. If you are too busy to show up to a practice at least once a week, or can't make it to the game on Sunday, this is not the team for you.

With our first Division title, the team has evolved. Expectations have been raised. We travel to National Tournaments now. All the while, we maintain an atmosphere of fun and comradiere. To become a member of The Cherokee Dragons, you have to be able to make us better over the long run.

So if you are interested in playing with the Cherokee Dragons, shoot me an email scot@cherokeedragons.com. Be sure to include your height, weight, age, highest level played (High School, College) and position(s). I cannot guarantee you a spot on the roster. But I may be able to put you in touch with a team that can.
